happy halloween

you will need...
models own;fuzzy peach models own;disco heaven models own;black nail art pen

Understated and me don't really go together, the crazier and more glittery the better! This is my take on pumpkin nails in preparation for tomorrow (I'm not even doing anything but who needs an excuse anyway?!) I think they're quite cute and really easy to do, what do you reckon?

models own sale haul

Emerald Black, Red n Black, Red Red Wine, Deep Purple, Purple Pearl

I'm a bit late to the party on the Models Own sale haul post, but I had problems with my order so I had to get them delivered to the UK and ask my kind mummy to post them on to me. I was obviously channeling my inner goth when I made this order as all the colours are really dark! I  have a lot of pastel colours in my nail varnish collection and with winter fast approaching I felt like I needed something a bit more appropriate. Red n Black is my favourite, it looks black in the bottle but when I swatched it, it's totally different. Hard to explain but I'll post photos of it in action soon!

I'm also kind of sad that Models Own have released the wonderland collection so soon as argh it's so pretty, but that would be 10 new polishes in a month! That's even too many by my record so maybe I'll wait until next month!

glorious aquarius

Imagine Boots or Superdrug but 10x cheaper, and that's what you get when you go to the drogeriemarkt (dm for short) in Germany. This chain stocks everything from John Frieda to Essie to Garnier and Maybelline. You name it, they probably have it. I went in on the off chance for some nail varnish remover and ended up coming out with these goodies. It is so cheap I'm still in shock now. John Frieda products that you would perhaps pay £7-£8 for in the UK are as cheap as 4.95€ which is under £4! Most of the makeup brands Loreal, Maybelline etc are similar prices to the UK but this suncream which retails for around £16 in the UK cost me 3.95€ which is just completely mental! Anybody agree?!

The nail polishes are by a brand called Essence, I'm thinking that it's a German or 'dm' own brand as I have never heard of or seen them anywhere else, but OMG I am in love. At 1.55 each I couldn't be happier, the colours are great and the consistency is so good considering the price. I was literally tempted to buy every single glitter in the collection but then reminded myself that the Mirrorball collection by Models Own is due to be released soon.

The photo reallyyy doesn't do this blue glitter any justice it's called 'glorious aquarius' and I layered it on top of Models Own 'feeling blue'. It looks so similar to Ibiza Mix but it definitely is turquoise rather than silver! I've added two coats and they really are so blue and sparkly I'm in love.

On another note, pleassee can everybody go to the Models Own Facebook page and like like like away as when they get to a huge 100,000 likes they are going to hold a 50% off sale which would just be great for all of us, dontcha think?!

daily want: louise gray nail polish

Nails in Pinch Punch by Louise Gray for Topshop

Sorry I've been a bit slack on the blogging front recently, I've been mega busy trying to sort out final preparations for Germany. Panicking that I don't have the correct insurance and any money! Student finance have royally mucked up (again) and I don't even have an offer from them yet which is a nightmare as I leave next week!!

But onto all things sparkly, I love this nail polish so much I felt this was worthy of a post. It's part of the Topshop and Louise Gray collaboration and those of you that know me / follow me on Instagram will know I love pretty much anything with glitter - especially when it concerns nail polish. The pink glitter is my favourite but there are a few more sparkly ones in the collection too. It's just such a shame that my nearest Topshop that stocks makeup is at least a train journey away and I don't have time to rush out and buy it. So for now, I will just have to admire through my computer screen.

essie summer collection: bikini so teeny

If you read my post the other day or follow me on instagram - @rozijones, you will have seen that this little collection arrived on my doorstep after my day out shopping in Birmingham. Having read so many reviews on Essie polishes and having never tried them myself, when I came across the Bikini So Teeny Mini Collection on ASOS, I figured it was the perfect time to try them! If you're anything like me and constantly changing your nails, this is a great way to try new colours instead of forking out for a full size bottle of a polish you will probably only use a couple of times anyway.

The name of the collection drew me in and it's actually the name of the sparkly blue polish, although that one is probably the least 'summery' of them all. The miniature set contains 4 5ml polishes and according to the Essie website can be described as 'bikini so teeny' - a sparkling cornflower blue, 'mojito madness' - a fun loving, lime green, 'off the shoulder' - a bold hot pink and 'fear or desire' - a bright orange crush. Because of my job at the moment I can't actually paint my nails :( so I haven't been able to test (apart from on my tootsies) so I'm just reviewing from what I can see in the bottles.

Bikini So Teeny - like I said earlier, probably the least summery of the whole collection but nevertheless such a pretty colour! It's a pale blue and when you look really close you can see tiny shimmering particles, it's not really like anything I've ever come across before - I can't wait to try it.
Mojito Madness - green polish is something I would never usually go for so I'm glad this was included in the mini collection! Because I can't paint my nails I have coated my toes in this and it's just a really nice summer colour and quite unusual. The formula seems really good after just one coat it was looking pretty opaque and not patchy at all. I did 2 coats and finished them off with my Models Own top coat, they're looking pretty good for green (I would post a photo if it wasn't my toes, some people freak out at toes).
Off The Shoulder - I love nothing more than a hot pink nail varnish and this is just perfect! Need I say more?
Fear Or Desire - I've tried a few Nails Inc and Models Own orange polishes before but this one is a lot brighter, summery perfection in a bottle. I can't wait to use this on my holiday!
I would definitely recommend this collection especially as the drab weather has probably left us all in need of a serious pick me up and these colours will hopefully do just that.
