buns and bows

shirt;French Connection

I realised I haven't done an outfit post in a while, so here we are. I'm back to my webcam today though to take photos as I'm nursing a bit of a hangover and I'm a bit pushed for time. I love this shirt it's so loose fitting and is perfect for hiding my really bloated alcohol belly, plus I'm going out for dinner shortly and it hides everything nicely.

How pants is this bank holiday weather?! I feel so sorry for everyone that went to Creamfields this year, I went last year and it was incredible but I'm so glad I couldn't make it this year! I'm glad to be in the comfort of my warm bed eating pizza and cookies.

Anyway I hope those of you that weren't at Creamfields had fun this bank holiday weekend, especially if you were at Reading or Leeds!

been shopping

Topshop; oversized burnout tee, basic neppy tee, black acid leigh jean
Topshop Lips; Rio Rio
ASOS; alton boots
Recently I've just been drawn to everything that's completely grunge. My little Topshop spree last week consisted of buying everything in grey and black and although I bought a lot more than what's pictured I took most of it back because I realised that I didn't need the same t-shirt in 3 different colours - oops.

I just bought basics as these t-shirts go with everything and although I'm really not a fan of jeans; the only pair I own are the rose coloured 'leigh' jeans from Topshop, I thought it was about time I invested in a new pair. If you haven't tried these jeans I don't know where you've been, basically a glorified jegging but so comfy and so flattering they literally would look good on anyone (especially if you hate jeans like I do). Anyway I bought the black acid wash colour and although I wasn't sure at first I've decided I really like them and hopefully I'll get a lot of wear out of them with my ASOS alton boots ^^ which I'm yet to wear.

I also invested in a new lip stick Rio Rio which is just a really vibrant red, satin matte finish and stays put for hours. Love! It looks a lot darker on the Topshop website than it is, much brighter in real life and also really moisturising!

daily want: louise gray nail polish

Nails in Pinch Punch by Louise Gray for Topshop

Sorry I've been a bit slack on the blogging front recently, I've been mega busy trying to sort out final preparations for Germany. Panicking that I don't have the correct insurance and any money! Student finance have royally mucked up (again) and I don't even have an offer from them yet which is a nightmare as I leave next week!!

But onto all things sparkly, I love this nail polish so much I felt this was worthy of a post. It's part of the Topshop and Louise Gray collaboration and those of you that know me / follow me on Instagram will know I love pretty much anything with glitter - especially when it concerns nail polish. The pink glitter is my favourite but there are a few more sparkly ones in the collection too. It's just such a shame that my nearest Topshop that stocks makeup is at least a train journey away and I don't have time to rush out and buy it. So for now, I will just have to admire through my computer screen.

lavish alice wish list

Lavish Alice wish list
You may or may not have heard of Lavish Alice; those of you in the blogging community definitely will have seen them cropping up all over the place and I felt like I should devote a whole wish list to their new collection as I love everything about it. Skulls, studs, chiffon shirts, embellished jumpers, wet look leggings and collar tips.. nothing quite describes my style more than that. As you may well be aware by now I love studs and skulls so naturally I was drawn to this collection, plus it's all so affordable! I genuinely am gutted that the skull embellished jumper (bottom right) is sold out as I definitely would have bought it if it was still available in my size :(. Hopefully it will be back in stock soon though!

pleather skirt

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I've been really busy trying to organise everything for Germany and when I've not been doing that I've been working and haven't really been anywhere to wear anything remotely interesting to do an outfit post! I've finally managed to take some snaps today though as I now have a proper camera complete with a tripod, and as my new pleather skirt arrived from Own the Runway last week I figured it was about time I got my act together and posted something interesting!

I've needed a pleated black skirt like this in my wardrobe for so long but haven't been able to find one for a reasonable price that I love. Being from Rugby shopping is ridiculously limited and without access to H&M or Primark unless I get on a train, the internet is the only option so you can imagine how happy I was when I found this skirt for £20. Especially as it has studs on too! Perfect.

In beauty news I finally got round to using the Estee Lauder double wear that I bought back in about March. This just proves how bad I am when it comes to spending; I buy things for the sake of it, forget I even have them and get round to using them 6 months later. But anyway, I dusted the cobwebs and tested it out today and I have to say that on first impressions I was slightly disappointed. As I applied it I felt it made my skin quite 'cakey' and I'm usually really oily, my skin isn't dry at all but as the day has gone on I have to say I'm really impressed with it and my face does look pretty flawless today!

Anyway, that's enough distractions for today back to trying to learn German.

Bis Später!

john frieda style tutorials: fishtail plait

I rarely have a 'good hair day' and If I could pay for a personal hairdresser for the rest of my life I would. I find my hair so stressful and hard to manage and I have no idea what I'm actually doing when it comes to styling so just kind of bodge job the best I can. I'm also extremely lazy when it comes to trying anything new; I  dry and straighten and on greasy days I shove it on top of my head in a bun. So if you're anything like me when it comes to hair (lazy and/or don't really know what you're doing), YouTube is so helpful for providing hair inspiration.

I've been wanting to try a fishtail plait for ages and as John Frieda have just launched a series of videos for their Sheer Blonde range on their YouTube channel here I thought I should finally give it a try. This video is really easy to follow and makes the plait seem so effortless. Although the products are aimed at blondes the styles can be tried out on any hair type! This was my first attempt so took a little while but will only get easier with practice, et voila one fishtail plait!

The other thing I love about these videos is that they are only a few minutes long, I tend to get bored and switch off with tutorial videos that are longer than five minutes. Anyway, definitely give these styles a try they're really easy and fab for greasy, just don't know what to do with your hair days.

life

balcony view, best holiday drink, beach, fave new market jewellery

Sorry for the lack of posting I've been pretty rubbish at blogging recently (I was on holiday last week), but since I've been back I've felt so demotivated to do anything! I'm not sure what it is maybe because I haven't seen any of my friends in 2 weeks I'm driving myself a bit loopy just sat around the house.

Anyway, Spain was so lush - I don't really need to say much other than we just lay around in the sun: reading, sleeping and eating! Obviously we did the usuals; water park, markets, beach, bars and we were really lucky to have BBC 1 in the room so every night before dinner we managed to catch an hour or so of the Olympics (woop go team GB). I also read the 50 Shades trilogy and really disliked it, actually I hated it, and contrary to popular opinion I would advise not reading it if you haven't already. Especially if you are a bit of a literature geek like me you will only get wound up/extremely bored and wish you never bothered.

I really wish I'd been bothered to take outfit photos while I was away I had so many nice clothes and new shoes but it really was just too hot in the evenings, my makeup wouldn't stay and my hair was basically a giant fuzz ball for the whole week so I gave up on that idea. Especially as my mum is the world's worst photographer and my brother refuses to take more than 1 picture at a time (impatient). So sorry I don't really have any interesting pictures to show. Hopefully I will manage an outfit post up this week!

I'm going for my first German lesson soon argh! But I'm waaay more excited for Saturday  because it's my leaving party so got some party planning to do, yay!
